Raid: Shadow Legends Grim Forest

The Grim Forest of the game: a fogged map of four zones that changes every 30-day cycle, two modes, and Leshun the Entangled One waiting behind three Grim Crowns. Where the battles stand on the map changes every cycle — so here is everything that stays the same: how many champions each zone draws for a battle and how strong its enemies are, Leshun and the four roaming bosses with stats, skills and the game's own strategy, the Mimics and Phrygius the Trovemaster, what each victory gives, the map chests, the Vendor, the Altars, all 18 Curios and every Trait Card. Pick a mode, then a boss.

  • EXPLORE AN UNCHARTED LANDThis gloomy forest hides untold mysteries. Delve into the fog and reveal its hidden secrets.
  • BATTLE NEW BOSSESDeadly new threats lurk within, complete with unique combat mechanics. Can you conquer them all?

How It Works

Blanketed by a mysterious fog, the Grim Forest is a terrifying place. Powerful magic changes the forest's structure over time, changing the path each time you enter. Let's find out more!

During your time in the Grim Forest, you can only use a limited number of Champions. First up, you'll need to choose the Champions you want to explore the Grim Forest alongside.

You'll need two Team Decks to form your overall Squad. Only Champions in the Squad can be used within the Grim Forest. Choose wisely - you can only make changes to your Squad using a special resource.

The darkness of the forest hides its true threat - Leshun the Entangled One. Traverse the gloom, defeat the lumbering lord, and free these lands. You'll need to find 3 Grim Crowns to take on Leshun and defeat it.

For each battle in the Grim Forest, you'll receive a random number of Champions from each of your Decks. Distribute your most powerful Champions across each Deck carefully.

When entering a battle, you'll receive random Champions from your Team Decks. For different battles, you'll receive a different number of Champions to choose from. Let's find out which Champions you'll get for this battle.

The Grim Forest hides much treasure along its winding paths. But beware - enemies will ambush you to try and stop you!

Boss skills

  • Soulmar Blades

Attacks all enemies. Increases the duration of all debuffs on each target by 1 turn.

Instantly activates one Poison debuff on each target.

  • Bringer of Desolation Cooldown: 3 turns

    Attacks all enemies 2 times.

The first hit places a 25% Weaken debuff and a 25% Poison Sensitivity debuff for 2 turns.

The second hit places three 5% Poison debuffs for 3 turns.

  • Exude Death Cooldown: 3 turns

Attacks all enemies. Increases the cooldowns of all enemy skills by 1 turn. Places 5% Poison debuffs on each enemy for 2 turns. The number of Poison debuffs placed on each enemy is equal to the number of skills currently on cooldown.

Removes all debuffs from Maximoz the Weeping Blade, and places a Poison Cloud buff on him for 2 turns.

  • Living Tragedy [P]

Whenever Maximoz the Weeping Blade is attacked, decreases the duration of all buffs on the attacker by 1 turn. If the attack lands as weak hit, decreases the duration of all buffs on the attacker by 2 turns instead.

Fills Maximoz the Weeping Blade's Turn Meter by 10% whenever he receives a weak hit.

  • Forever Weeping [P]

Maximoz the Weeping Blade and his allies are immune to Poison debuffs.

Enemies under Poison debuffs will receive 100% more damage from Poison debuffs. Whenever Maximoz the Weeping Blade or his allies are attacked by an enemy under a Poison debuff, decreases the active skill cooldowns of any allies targeted by that attack by 1 turn. Occurs once per skill.

Also instantly activates all Poison debuffs on the attacker whenever Maximoz the Weeping Blade or his allies are attacked. Occurs once per skill.

  • Almighty Immunity [P]

Immune to Stun, Freeze, Sleep, Provoke, Block Active Skills, Block Passive Skills, Fear, True Fear, Petrification, Berserk, Enfeeble, Nullify, Ensnare, Fatigue, and Hunter's Gaze debuffs. Also immune to HP exchange effects, HP balancing effects, and cooldown increasing effects.

  • Awakened Weakness [P]

Decreases the damage inflicted by the Boss for each Awakening Level on the target Champion (2.5% for Levels 1-2 and 5% for Levels 3-6, stacks up to 25%).

Increases the damage received by the Boss for each Awakening Level on the attacking Champion (5% for Levels 1-2 and 10% for Levels 3-6, stacks up to 50%).

  • Almighty Strength [P]

Damage from skills that scale based on enemy MAX HP cannot exceed 5% of the Boss' MAX HP when attacking the Boss.

  • Unfaltering Speed [P]

Immune to Decrease SPD debuffs and Turn Meter reduction effects.

  • Flameproof [P]

Damage from HP Burn debuffs cannot exceed 1% of the Boss' MAX HP.

Strategy

How It Works

  1. With his twin swords, Maximoz the Weeping Blade is here to make you feel his toxic wrath using Poison debuffs and very powerful attacks. Defeating Maximoz is all about timing and buff management, ensuring you're landing the killing blow at just the right moment.

  2. Maximoz's first skill is Soulmar Blades and it's a powerful AoE attack. The attack will extend the duration of all debuffs on your team, and instantly activate a single Poison debuff on each target too, dealing a high burst of damage. Shield and Block Debuffs buffs will be your best friends here, and making sure you're keeping debuffs off your team so Maximoz has nothing to extend the duration of.

  3. Bringer of Desolation is Maximoz's second skill and it's as powerful as it sounds. A two-hit AoE attack sees Maximoz place a 25% Weaken debuff and a 25% Poison Sensitivity debuff for 2 turns with the first hit, and 3 5% Poison debuffs for 3 turns on the second hit. Without Block Debuffs buffs or a Champion that can remove debuffs, this skill makes fighting Maximoz a nightmare.

  4. The third and final active skill for Maximoz is Exude Death, a devastatingly powerful AoE attack that increases the cooldowns of all your Champion's skills by 1 turn. That would be bad enough, but Maximoz isn't done there. He'll also place a number of Poison debuffs on your team for 2 turns. The number of Poisons placed on each of your Champions is equal to the number of skills they currently have on cooldown. Maximoz then removes all debuffs from himself and places a Poison Cloud buff on himself for good measure. To stop this toxic rampage, use Block Debuffs buffs and Immutable stacks, as well as HP Burn to counter the Poison Cloud.

  5. Maximoz's first passive skill is Living Tragedy [P] and it's a nightmare for buff-heavy teams. Whenever Maximoz takes a hit, the attacker has the duration of all buffs on them decreased by 1 turn, or 2 turns if they land a weak hit. Weak hits against Maximoz also fill his Turn Meter by 10%, so avoiding them is key. You'll need to ensure you place HP Burn debuffs while Maximoz has his Poison Cloud buff active otherwise you can kiss your buffs, and your chance at success, goodbye.

  6. Finally, we have Forever Weeping [P], Maximoz's second passive skill. Both Maximoz and his allies will be immune to Poison debuffs, and any of your Champions that are under Poison debuffs will receive 100% more damage from them. What's worse is that whenever Maximoz or one of his allies is attacked by an enemy under a Poison debuff, the recipient or recipients of that attack have all of their active skill cooldowns decreased by 1 turn, and the attacker has all of their Poison debuffs instantly activated. One or two strikes on an enemy while you're still under Poison debuffs is going to really hurt.

  7. Combatting Maximoz ultimately comes down to making sure you have the right Champions to either cleanse debuffs immediately, or place consistent Block Debuffs buffs to keep them off. Don't forget to bring a Champion with HP Burn either - you'll need it to help avoid landing weak hits when Maximoz places Poison Cloud on himself. Maximoz might have lower HP and DEF than some of his allies, but he wields mighty force and should not be underestimated.
